Div. 1 Offensive POY

Senior Midfielder Jordy Patterson

A First Team All-State selection in '08, Senior Midfielder Jordy Patterson led the Corona del Sol Aztecs to a successful entry into Division I with a 8-5 regular season record and a play-off appearance. He led Division I in regular season scoring with 80 points on 57 goals & 23 assists. Once a righty-only middie, he has spent 4 years getting the left up to speed.............as proven by the 80 points. Jordy also is a ground ball magnet, getting credit for 114 ground balls in 14 games

This summer he will be participating in the 2008 U-19 World Championships as a member of the Iroquois Nationals. Jordy will be playing Division I lacrosse at Syracuse University.

Div. 1 Co-Defensive POY

Senior Longstick Ryan Tuinstra

Ryan Tuinstra, a senior from the Mountain Pointe Pride, is the 2008 Co-Defensive Player of the Year (sharing the award with junior goalie Pierce Bassett of Brophy). As his team's defensive leader for the past 3 seasons, Ryan was a 3 time all star, was named 2nd team all state in 2006 and 2007 and 1st team all state in 2008. He is the first Mountain Pointe player to have been recognized as all-state. Teaming with fellow 1st team all-state defender Ryan Noble, the Pride made it to the state semi-finals in 2008 where they lost to eventual state champ Brophy

Ryan was the Pride's MVP in 2007 and CO-MVP in 2008.

In 2008 Ryan also contributed greatly on the offensive end of the field, scoring an incredible 13 goals and 8 assists in 14 games from his long stick defensive position.
