AYLL Launches Initial Newsletter - AYLL Lax Lowdown
This Issue's Special Points of Interest:
- The 2010 membership application filing deadline, for first year teams at any level, is 10/15/2009.
- The 2010 team registration filing deadline, for returning MS teams, is 10/15/2009.
- The 2010 team registration filing deadline, for returning HS teams, is 11/15/2009.
- The AYLL board of directors elects to start a 5th/6th grade league in 2010.

In the interests of furthering its ability to effectively communicate with players, parents, coaches, officials and team administrators, the AYLL board of directors will be periodically sending out an electronic newsletter entitled AYLL Lax Lowdown. You are reading the very first issue of the Lowdown.
We recognize that not all Arizona lacrosse enthusiasts visit the official AYLL league website, www.azlax.com, on a regular basis and therefore do not always obtain important league information in a timely manner. For that reason we have created the Lowdown. Each issue of the Lowdown will be sent to every member of the AYLL community and will contain important and timely information on an as needed basis. Information that is very likely to be important to you and your team.
Each issue of the Lowdown will typically be no more than one page and will be archived on the league website. You can view all Newsletters from this page.
Upon receipt of the Lowdown, we encourage you to forward it onto anyone who you think may be interested in youth lacrosse. The success and ongoing growth of the AYLL starts with you.

| 2010 Filing Deadlines: |

New Teams to AYLL:
The 2010 AYLL membership filing deadline for those organizations wishing to field a first year team regardless of the age level, is October 15, 2009. Please contact newteam@azlax.com for any questions regarding first year teams including minimum organizational standards and team boundaries. First year team applications will be approved or denied on or before November 1, 2009.
Returning Middle Schools
The 2010 AYLL team registration filing deadline, for returning middle school teams, is October 15, 2009. Each such team registration must be accompanied by a non-refundable check in the amount of $500.00. A link to the official 2010 AYLL team registration form will be available on the league website in September.
Returning High School Teams:
The 2010 AYLL team registration filing deadline, for returning junior varsity and varsity high school teams, is November 15, 2009. Each such team registration must be accompanied by a non-refundable in the amount of $500.00.

| New 5th/6th Grade League: |

New 5th/6th Grade League:
In recognition of the relentless growth of lacrosse at the middle school level (603 players, including 133 6th graders, in 2009) the AYLL has added a new 5th and 6th grade league for the 2010 AYLL lacrosse season. Competitive and administrative details will be worked out by September. Anyone interested in fielding a team comprised of strictly 5th and 6th graders, in 2010, should contact newteam@azlax.com and/or president@azlax.com.
